Isabel Coixet Will Head Venice Film Fest’s Horizons Jury


Isabel Coixet is heading to the Lido. Selection reviews that the Spanish filmmaker will preside over the jury of the Venice Movie Competition’s Horizons part, which is devoted to unconventional, cutting-edge titles. She’s joined by 4 different jurors, two of whom are ladies: “Sworn Virgin” writer-director Laura Bispuri and “The Blessed” filmmaker Sofia Djama.

“The Bookshop” and “The Secret Lifetime of Phrases” are amongst Coixet’s credit. Her upcoming slate contains “No one’s Coronary heart,” a romance primarily based on the lifetime of Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa. “Loki’s” Gugu Mbatha-Uncooked will star.

Set to happen August 31-September 10, Venice Movie Fest is celebrating its 79th version this 12 months. Julianne Moore is heading the fest’s most important jury.
