
Sathiyam TV’s managing editor claimed he was the goal.
Chennai:
A person carrying a sword entered the headquarters of Sathiyam TV, a preferred satellite tv for pc channel in Chennai, and broken properties on Tuesday. CCTV footage launched by the channel confirmed the person, carrying a sword and a protect, ransacking properties.
“He entered the office premises through the car parking area. He carried the weapons in a guitar bag,” the channel’s managing director, Isaac Livingstone, advised NDTV.
Mr Livingstone claimed he was the goal. He stated the person, now arrested, stored asking for him and “he thought I was safely locked in a room.”
On whether or not there was any potential set off or motive behind the assault, he stated, “We did not do any story against any individual. We don’t know what’s behind this”.
Senior law enforcement officials in Chennai couldn’t be reached for a remark. Nevertheless, a policeman on the Royapuram police station confirmed that the accused has been recognized as Rajesh Kumar. He stated investigation is on within the case.
“Rajesh is originally from Coimbatore but had moved to Gujarat. He had come driving his car all the way,” claimed Mr Livingstone. NDTVcouldn’t verify this with the police.
The Chennai Press Membership has condemned the assault. Mr Bharathi Tamilan, joint secretary, Chennai Press Membership, has appealed to the Tamil Nadu authorities to enact a regulation for the protection of journalists and their workplaces.
