Trailer Watch: Nana Mensah Inherits Her Mother’s Bookstore in Tribeca Winner “Queen of Glory”


“You don’t need to be your mom. You must outline you,” Nana Mensah is advised in a brand new trailer for “Queen of Glory.” The multi-hyphenate’s directorial debut sees her starring as Sarah, a doctoral scholar getting ready to a significant life change when tragedy strikes. Sarah is weeks away from transferring from New York Metropolis to observe her married boyfriend to Ohio when her mom dies. She leaves Sarah her enterprise, a Christian bookstore positioned within the tight-knit Ghanian immigrant neighborhood that she was raised in.

Confronted with planning her mom’s funeral and determining what to do with the shop, Sarah turns into more and more overwhelmed with all that’s being requested of her — and appears to begin reconsidering her future.
